Shelburne Craft School instructors Bradie Hansen and Luba Routsong work on a project as part of “Weaving Your Story,” a collaboration with Age Well.

Shelburne Craft School has partnered with Age Well to offer Weaving Your Story, a fiber arts class designed for older adults and caregivers. The program invites participants to reflect on milestones, transitions, and memories by creating woven “time capsules” that incorporate yarn, symbols, and personal materials.

Led by fiber artist and licensed therapist Bradie Hansen, the class blends creative expression with storytelling, offering space to process grief, celebrate resilience, and build new connections. The partnership supports the school’s goal of broadening access and increasing student diversity while addressing the very real risks of social isolation among older adults.

Through laughter, quiet reflection, and the rhythmic act of weaving, participants leave not only with a finished piece, but with a deeper sense of connection — to their own stories and to one another.
