Susan Powers

I learned to weave in the 1970’s, starting with a frame loom and a local teacher. I was, and remain, fascinated with being able to make my own cloth. I am mostly self taught via books and workshops. In 2014, I received the Handweavers Guild of America’s Certificate of Excellence Level I in technical skills. In that same year, I completed Laurie Autio’s multi-year course, Explorations in Advanced Weaving. Since retiring in 2002, I’ve been able to focus more on weaving and teaching weaving. We moved to Vermont in 202o and I’m delighted to be teaching floor loom weaving as part of the Craft School’s Fiber program.
