Marie Lallier
Burlington, VT
Marie is a self-taught lifelong hand stitcher who mended and patched for friends and family. Inspired by the work of artist Celia Pym and a love for making and growing for function, Marie expanded her skills to include visible darning and other mending techniques, including exploration of the sustainable clothing movement. Hand stitching is slow, which allows space for contemplation and joy in a demanding and noisy world. Marie is also very pleased and honored to be the lead teacher for the Champlain Community Services partnership with Shelburne Craft School.
