Tom Wright

Charlotte, VT

Tom Wright creates drawings and paintings in a variety of media as an investigative practice, using the imagination as a sense, leading to unforeseen outcomes. Born from the unconscious, nurtured and developed; symbols, patterns and archetypes emerge. Wright says “Between what I see and the media I use, a third voice emerges… it is visual, like dreaming while awake, but it is not mine, but I participate in it and with it, I follow it and the stories unfold.”

Wright received his undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Harvard College followed by a 4 year studio diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where he subsequently taught drawing as a visiting faculty member for four years before moving to Vermont.
